Review : This is one of the oldest beaches in San Deigo, CA. People come to this beach to surf, tan, play and listen to music, skate, and bike. These activites give this beach a true 'beach atmosphere'. Swimming is usually not allowed since the waves are strong and plenty of surfers are breaking the waves making it dangerous for swimmers. There are also many restaurants serving anything from burgers to fish tacos. There are also some great places to have a few beers and enjoy the scenery and atmosphere of Ocean Beach. This beach has its fair number of homeless people laying around. However, most will not bother you and are quite friendly to visitors. Parking during the winter and early spring months is usually plentiful. Parking may be a little difficult in the summer and/or peak months for various beach activities.
