Body Boarding

The beach offers different activities for all ages and talent levels. One can go sunbathing, surfing, body boarding, kayaking, etc.
When a beginner goes to the beach the first thing they want to do is go surf. Surfing, however, is not easy to learn, and it takes
patience, endurance, and skill to master. Often times a surfer's first experience is not enjoyable since catching and riding a wave is
difficult to learn. Body boarding is recommended first for beginners since it teaches one how to catch smaller waves and ride it
to the shoreline.
A person's weight plays a huge factor in successfully catching waves. If you go to the beach you will see small children body board successfully
from where the wave breaks all the way to the shoreline. Adults are heavier and require larger body boards. Be sure to get the largest
body board available, since you are going to need it. There are shops everywhere along the beach that sell body boards ranging from $15
to $50. The cheap body boards are usually small and for kids. Adults will require the more expensive larger ones. Most body boards
have a rope that you attach to your wrist, and it keeps the flotation device from floating away.

When you enter the ocean the salt water may sting your eyes. Don't worry; it takes about 15 minutes for your eyes to adjust. The
quickest way to learn is to watch other people ride waves and then to try it yourself. Head out to where the waves break and start body boarding!
